John is the Member of Parliament for the Carlisle constituency.

John was educated in Aberdeen and graduated from Dundee Law College with Honours in History and Politics. He then studied law at Chester before qualifying as a Solicitor. He is presently a partner in the law firm Bendles based in the centre of Carlisle. John lives on the edge of the city of Carlisle.

John Stevenson's Experience

John has been heavily involved in Carlisle and North Cumbria politics for nearly 15 years. He has been chairman of the Carlisle Constituency Association as well as Penrith and the Border. He is presently the chairman of the North Cumbria Conservatives which is a federation of the four North Cumbria Constituencies. John has also been a Councillor on the Carlisle City Council since 1999.
